Mission

Blissed Out is dedicated to bringing the purest, most bliss inducing chocolate to the world.  

We specialize in the highest quality organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, raw chocolates.  Raw cacao, the main ingredient in all Blissed Out chocolate is one of the world's most nutrient dense foods.  Vast arrays of its nutrients are destroyed in the conventional chocolate making process.  We at Blissed Out hand craft each small batch of chocolate in such a way that ensures the over 300+ antioxidants, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals remain intact.

Story:

Blissed Out is the brain child of friends Erika Martin and Nora Hamerman.  Their love and passion for raw foods brought Erika and Nora together in Providence, RI in the spring of 2007. Every sunday that summer was spent on one crazy adventure or another.  On such occasions (and many others) copious amounts of raw chocolate (cacao) were consumed, resulting in sense of pure euphoria and bliss which were affectionately called getting "Blissed Out." These occasions are the namesake of the company.

Erika moved to Austin, TX in the winter of '07, longing for warmth and sunshine.  In the summer of '08 while conversing about the need to get the true nutritional value of cacao out to the masses, how awesome it would be to do nothing but make chocolate and get blissed out all day? The idea struck! Why couldn't we? Why couldn't we have our own chocolate company? What was stopping us from spreading the work one delicious bite at a time? Shortly thereafter, Erika quit her corporate retail management with BCBG Maxazria, cashed in her savings, and went to work.

Not knowing a thing about starting a company and living thousands of miles apart, the two were determined to make it happen.  In winter '08, Nora moved to Austin, TX to work on Blissed Out, but left the company shortly there after to pursue her interests in Superfoods. She is now one of the foremost experts on Superfoods.  Nora still remains a huge part and supporter of Blissed Out to this day.

Erika continues to run Blissed Out, develop new flavors and recipes, as well as, hand crafts, pour, and package each individual truffle.
