I am very happy to announce this month's collaborative effort with internationally reknowned artist and author, Nikki McClure.  It is the height of lavender and rose season.  Join us as we gain inspiration from the garden and infuse hand- dipped truffles with a fine balance of delicate sweetness and fragrent delight. Nikki McClure lives in Olympia. She is a self-taught artist
sent far and wide. She has illustrated several children's books and journals including her latest book, "Mama, Is It Summer Nikki McClureYet?" and the New York Times Best-seller “All in a Day”, by Cynthia Rylant. Her images also appear on Patagonia apparel and as magazine illustrations. Sometimes McClure collaborates with her husband, Jay T. Scott, making lamps, and with her son making gardens and large holes in dirt. In addition to all of this work, she picks blueberries, swims in wild lakes, and makes an occasional pie. www.nikkimcclure.com

June - Ginger Infused Oranges Wheels designed by Film Maker, David Fenster

David Fenster grew up in Miami, Florida.  He does not have a middle name.  As a young child, he enjoyed drwing, painting, and eating artichokes dipped in drawn butter.  In college, he would micro-wave turkey dogs and eat them with no bun or condiments.  His love of art and food came together on this project. Brigitte Kouo is an architect & designer living and working in Los Angeles, CA. Prior to attending architecture school at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCIARC), where she earned a Master of Architecture.  She studied Art History at Northwestern University and at the University of Texas at Austin.  She wrote her art history master's thesis on Joseph Cornell, and American artist from the mid-century who was obsessed with collections, collages and boxes, and was really king of a creepy old man.  She has recently rediscovered her love of botany and the secret life of plants.

C. Andrew Hall (Andy) is a filmmaker and editor. He
grew up in suburban Albany, NY and received his undergraduate degree in Enivornmental Engineering
from Dartmouth College.  After Dartmouth, he followed Phish around the U.S. and worked for independent filmmaker Jay Craven in Vermont before packing up his car and moving to Los Angeles in 1999.  In 2003, he graduated from the Director's Guild of America Assistant Director's Training Program, working on shows such as Angel, ER, and Gigli. In 2007, he earned his M.F.A. in Film Directing from California Institute of the Arts. He is currently completing his first feature length project, entitled Frogtown, to be released fall 2010.

Rebecca's Artist Statement: The fulfillment after creating something with my own two hands is what fuels me to make artwork. The process is more about taking advantage of a variety of media (everything from screen prints to image transfers of passages from novels and poems) without even knowing what I want the final piece to exactly look like. This dissolves the pressure of creating something that solely aesthetically pleases the viewer, but eventually results in a balance of weight, energy, and personal meaning. To read more...
